Occupy the road in connection with building work
Apply for a permit to occupy the road in connection with building work
Storing building materials on the footway, verge or carriageway? You need a licence.
A fee is sometimes charged for the licence. If you store building materials on the street without consent it can cause an obstruction. This is an offence.
If the works are minor and don't require the closure of a road or footpath there is no fee.
If you need to close a road or footpath, you must apply for a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (subject to an administrative fee of up to £1350).
Will tacit consent apply?
No. It is in the public interest that we process your application before it can be granted. If you have not heard from us within a reasonable period, please contact us.
