In line with government expectation, this funding will be used to (further) reduce the council tax bills for all working age and pension age Local Council Tax Support (CTS) claimants by up to £25.00 in 2023/24.

Along with this grant, North Tyneside Council has made additional funding available through the 2023/24 budget to help working age claimants with a further discretionary hardship reduction of up to £125.00. This is in addition to the £25.00 giving working age claimants a reduction of up to £150.00 in their council tax bill after their standard Council Tax Support is calculated.
