Shiremoor Adventure Playground is a community-based, inclusive adventure playground, catering for children and young people of all abilities.
Our public opening times are open access, with children aged eight and over able to come and go as they please. Children aged under-eight must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Our friendly play workers are always on hand to help out and support children to use the equipment. Admission is free, with refreshments for sale at the small café run by local volunteers and supported by the Shiremoor Adventure Playground Trust.
The playground provides dedicated sessions for children with disabilities and has fully accessible toilet and changing facilities.
Shiremoor Adventure Playground is just a 10-minute walk from Shiremoor Metro Station. There is limited parking on site, although parking is available nearby.
Volunteering opportunities are on offer for children and adults and include helping look after the playground, organising events, caring for our small animal collection, tending the allotments and helping out in the café.
