The Early Years and School Improvement Service

We are a highly experienced group of specialist education professionals dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people.

We work with schools at all stages of their development across North Tyneside and beyond. Schools in need of improvement; good schools aspiring to be outstanding and outstanding schools seeking to improve even further.

We are uniquely positioned to offer:

  • informed advice and guidance to school leaders on how to improve aspects of the school
  • proactive support in the collection, moderation, verification and effective use of pupil performance information
  • a strong partnership approach with outstanding schools and practitioners with a proven track record of bringing about improvement
  • identification and sharing of local, regional and national best practice
  • a full range of professional development opportunities for school leadership teams, staff and governors
  • a professional development programme carefully tailored to a school’s individual needs

We offer a Service Level Agreement or a ‘pay as you go’ option for support to all schools.

The Langdale Centre

We are based at the Langdale Centre in Wallsend.

The Langdale Centre is a professional conference & training centre based on the outskirts of Newcastle Upon Tyne, within easy reach from Newcastle Central train station, Newcastle airport, the A19 and A1058(Coast Road).  The Centre is accessed by good public transport links, with a 10 minute walk to the main Tyne & Wear Metro system and bus routes within 5 minute walk. The Langdale Centre also has free parking for over 135 vehicles.

Langdale Centre offers excellent conference and training facilities for a wide range of events; from seminars, presentations and workshops to boardroom meetings providing value for money accommodation. A wide variety of training rooms are available, accommodating groups of between 6 and 50 guests. For larger events we have the Conference Hall which can comfortably seat 128 guests cabaret style or 200 theatre style.

All our rooms are well equipped and we have all the support you could need readily available in terms of IT and Audio Visual support. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi access, IT equipment including laptop, projector, screen, sound and flipcharts. All rooms also have water coolers included.

Our in house catering team are on hand to accommodate all of your catering requirements, with a wide range of buffet menus, selection of pastries, cakes, Tea, Coffee and a high quality restaurant service.

Our aim is to ensure that we have everything in place for your meetings, allowing you to concentrate on business in hand.
