Conservation areas in North Tyneside

About conservation areas

Conservations areas are designated areas where special restrictions are imposed on development in order to retain the character of the area. Any development proposal in a conservation area will be expected to have the utmost regard for the character of the surrounding environment.

Further guidance is available for development in a conservation area.
