Primary, first and special school meals

We aim to provide nutritious, well-balanced menus that pupils will enjoy.

All meals are freshly prepared in school each morning and meet the rigorous school food guidelines set out by the Government.

For just £2.60 per day your child can enjoy:

  • a choice of freshly cooked main courses, including traditional and vegetarian choices accompanied by fresh vegetables or salads from the salad bar
  • sandwich option with a choice of fillings
  • a tasty homemade pudding or fresh fruit

Our school meals are designed to give your child exactly the right kind of foods to keep them going until teatime, including lots of energy-giving carbohydrates and at least two of their five a day fruit and vegetables.

If your child doesn't already stay for a school meal, why not introduce them? You might be surprised.

Middle school meals

All meals are freshly prepared in school each morning and meet the rigorous school food guidelines set out by the Government.

For just £2.60 per day your child can enjoy:

  • jacket potato or sandwich option with a choice of fillings
  • unlimited bread
  • a tasty homemade pudding, fresh fruit or yoghurt

Why not encourage your child to try school meals and have a hot nutritious meal in the cold winter months.

High school meals

The Catering Services team and high school unit managers have developed an inspiring 3 week menu with dishes from around the world.

The offer is high schools includes:

  • Freshly prepared daily chef’s special meal with a choice of fresh fruit or yoghurt.
  • More meat free options will offer students the chance to try some new plant- based dishes
  • Deli sandwich bar offering sandwiches and salad boxes made to order
  • Pasta station with a range of pasta sauces
  • A range of homemade biscuits and cakes
  • Fresh fruit pots and a range of cold drinks
  • A range of chilled drinks

There is a tariff in place in high schools and the school meal price from September 2023 for a 2 course meal is £2.60.

The following schools use ParentPay to pay for school meals.  Alternatively, students can use contactless payment at the tills.

Food allergies & medically prescribed diets

Your child's required diet needn't prevent them from enjoying a healthy and tasty school lunch with their friends.

  • currently produce over 300 special diets each day
