The North of Tyne Combined Authority was established on November 2 2018 and brought together the three councils who serve Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
Equipped with new powers and a £600m investment fund devolved from central Government, to be administered by an Elected Mayor, the authority is driving forward with a vision to create a more dynamic and inclusive economy, improve people’s quality of life, strengthen communities, and tackle the issues that matter most to local people.
The North of Tyne Combined Authority does not replace individual councils, who continue to provide services for local communities.
