COVID-19 Update for Tenants
North Tyneside Council recognises that coronavirus (COVID-19) is presenting unprecedented challenges for businesses.
The Government has set out a package of temporary, timely and targeted measures through this period of disruption.
This includes the introduction of emergency measures to ensure that commercial tenants who cannot pay their rent because of coronavirus will not be evicted for at least three months. In support of this, the Strategic Property team have temporarily suspended formal debt recovery action when rents are overdue – please be aware that reminders will continue to be issued
Please read the section on coronavirus on the North Tyneside Council website homepage as there are links to information about the support available to businesses.
We would encourage businesses to join the North Tyneside Business Forum. This is free to join and offers practical advice and guidance, communications on any public funded business support and a forum for businesses to communicate with each other - www.northtynesidebusinessforum.org.uk
The North East LEP deliver the region’s online business support platform, the North East Growth Hub which features a comprehensive COVID-19 toolkit for businesses - www.northeastgrowthhub.co.uk/toolkits
To ensure you have up to date access to the national COVID-19 business support, the following website hosts all the details of the schemes that have been announced:
