Appeal for award memories

Press release: An abstract view of the Council crest

An event is being held in North Tyneside to celebrate those who have taken part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award over the last 60 years – and residents are being encouraged to share their memories.

This June will see The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award celebrating its Diamond Jubilee.

And to mark the event in North Tyneside, the council is holding an event on June 30 to bring together those who have taken part over the last six decades.

Before the event takes place, the local authority is appealing to residents to send in copies of photographs or press cuttings of them taking part in the programme.

Anyone who would like to contribute their own stories or photographs is asked to get in touch, by calling (0191) 643 8587, emailing, or via Twitter @NTynesideDofE.
