North Tyneside residents can come along to an event with an established crime writer as part of an ever-popular campaign.
As part of the annual Read Regional campaign, which celebrates ten exciting new books from the North of England, crime writer Helen Cadbury will be at North Shields Customer First Centre on Tuesday, June 14 from 7pm to talk about her latest work.
Helen’s novel, Bones in the Nest, is the second in the Sean Denton series. Her debut, To Catch a Rabbit, was joint winner of the Northern Crime Award 2012. First published by Moth Publishing, it was re-released in a new edition by Allison & Busby and chosen as an Amazon Rising Star in January 2015.
Speaking on the Read Regional campaign, Helen said: “I love libraries and I love meeting readers. I’m looking forward to visiting different parts of the region and getting to know new places.
“I’ve featured a library in Bones in the Nest and one of my short stories was about a librarian winning the lottery, so maybe I’ll be able to pick up some new ideas for my next library-themed story.”
Now in its seventh year, Read Regional is run by New Writing North that partners with libraries and publishers to give readers the chance to meet authors in their local libraries. As well as the author events, all of the Read Regional titles are stocked in 22 library authorities across the region, creating a wealth of fantastic books available to borrow.
Tickets for the event can be bought in advance at any North Tyneside Library and cost £3.
