As one of North Tyneside’s most popular events approaches, organisers are encouraging young people to grab tickets.
The Event @ Segedunum 2016, which takes place on 2 July in the historic grounds of the Segedunum Roman Fort, Wallsend, is a unique outdoor music festival for the borough’s 11 to 18 year olds, showcasing some of North Tyneside’s best young bands and solo artists.
And with only 1,000 wristbands released for the festival, time is running out for young people to snap them up.
Eleven bands or soloists have been selected to perform and the audience will vote for their favourite who will go on to play at the prestigious Mouth of the Tyne Festival, sharing the bill with world-renowned artists such as James Bay, Bryan Ferry and Will Young.
Running from 12 noon until 5pm, there will also be a rodeo sheep, high striker and cage football, at no extra cost. There will be a photo booth, too, which there will be a small charge for.
Refreshments will be on sale throughout the day.
Wristbands are priced at £3 each and they’re available from the bands themselves, at Segedunum Roman Fort, by calling (0191) 643 8215 or emailing youngmayor@northtyneside.gov.uk.
