Thousands of visitors will be flocking to North Tyneside for the ever popular Summer Festival with its fantastic line up of music, dance, street performers and children’s entertainment at venues all over the borough.
Wallsend Festival takes place this weekend (2&3 July) with a funfair, class cars, live music, stalls and much more in the Town Centre on Saturday.
On Sunday the fun moves to Wallsend Parks and Wallsend Hall with a bicycle stunt team, lots of free activities, and a funfair on the green with live music, crafts and entertainment.
Mouth of the Tyne Festival, now in its 12th year, is organised by North Tyneside Council and supported by Tyne Met College, Kier, Port of Tyne and Arts Council England. This spectacular event takes place from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 July and is bursting with concerts at Tynemouth Priory and Castle.
Visitors can look forward to free international street entertainment with performers from France, Spain, Australia and Canada.
Bryan Ferry takes to the stage on Thursday night with Will Young on Friday, James Bay on Saturday and the Sunday afternoon concert headlined by showbiz legend Lulu and R&B star Lemar.
Additions to the bill include jazz funk band Nick Pride and the Pimptones and the winners of The Event @ Segedunum.
Tynemouth Station will host activities for under-5s as well as a showcase for local performers, interactive installations and Latin American entertainment.
There is a free jazz programme outside the Gibraltar Rock and hundreds of children and volunteers will take part in the annual pageant featuring a range of musical styles and some colourful costumes.

Many of these are free and they are taking place along the seafront, in towns, parks, libraries and other venues all over the borough. Wherever you live there will be something to enjoy this summer.”
