Aquatic youngsters were put to the test as they went up against each other in a series of challenges at a North Tyneside leisure centre.
Hadrian Leisure Centre, in Wallsend, played host to pupils from 12 North Tyneside schools as they held a ‘swimming gala’ for the young people to compete against each other.
The gala invited over 140 children to take part in a series of pool-based races and events, with Hadrian Park Primary School coming out on top, with Western Community and Wallsend Jubilee primary schools in second and third, respectively.
Everyone who took part was also rewarded with a medal to commemorate the day.
North Tyneside Council offers a wide array of facilities for its residents to keep fit, with a number of pools and leisure centres available for Contours members.
A Contours fitness and wellbeing membership package gives unlimited access to five gyms, four pools, two spas and over 190 classes.
Up until August 28, residents can grab a four-week membership with Contours for just £16 while juniors aged 14-16 can also grab a Contours summer membership (gym only), getting four weeks for £12.
