North Tyneside’s jam-packed Summer Festival programme continues this week, with even more fun for the whole family.

This weekend, at Whitley Bay’s Spanish City Plaza, there will be fantastic street entertainment with some of the world’s best street performers and the region’s best buskers singing popular crowd-pleasers.

Acts from across the world will be performing, with names such as Logy on Fire, of Northern Ireland, and Witty Look, all the way from Japan, appearing.

Hosted by international variety artist Todd Various, visitors can grab some fish and chips and ice cream as they watch fantastic shows every hour between 12pm and 3pm.

Activities continue at Tynemouth Station with more free events taking place next week from Monday to Friday.

There are interactive sessions for children aged under five in the mornings, including an opportunity to get a bit messy with Glooptastic, as well as dance classes with LP Dancing Tots and Startastic Ballerinas

Children can show off their creative side with ARTventurers and Piccolo Music, also taking place at Tynemouth Station.

Places are limited and are offered on a first come, first served basis.

In the afternoons, there will be a varied programme of live jazz performances between 1pm- 4pm, with the Levee Ramblers, The Maine Street Jazzmen and the Vieux Carre Jazzmen just a few of the acts on show.

There’s a variety of free and paid-for events taking place throughout the borough, from Aquatic Adventures at the Rising Sun Countryside Centre to Heritage Train Rides at the Stephenson Railway Museum.

Some events have limited availability and must be booked in advance.
