Join the Great British Spring Clean as it sweeps into North Tyneside

Volunteers are needed for a community clean up at Marden Quarry

Volunteers are asked to roll up their sleeves up for an environmental spring clean at Marden Quarry, on Saturday 4 March, from 11am – 2pm.

North Tyneside Council is asking people to come forward and join an organised litter pick at the nature reserve in support of the Great British Spring Clean; a campaign to get half a million people out and about and cleaning up in their communities.

Craig Thompson, Park Warden at Marden Quarry said: “The Great British Spring Clean is about everyone working together to clean up the litter that blights our landscape and communities and we’re delighted to be taking part and bringing people together to tackle an issue that many people care passionately about.”

Anyone interested in volunteering should email craig.thompson@northtyneside.gov.uk or call 07583 225 859 to confirm they’d like to take part. All equipment will be provided on the day, but registration is essential.
