Suspense and intrigue will be the order of the day when bestselling author Elly Griffiths comes to meet her fans at Wallsend Library.
The London-born crime writer will give a talk about her new novel, The Chalk Pit, which is the latest in a popular mystery series following the exploits of forensic archaeologist, Dr Ruth Galloway.
The dark and gripping tale begins with the discovery of bones in tunnels beneath the streets of Norwich, and develops into a labyrinthine mystery with gruesome secrets to unfold.
Elly's popularity among library users was acknowleged in 2016, when she landed the prestigious CWA Dagger in the Library prize, and the Wallsend event is expected to sell out fast.
She said: “Winning the Dagger in the Library was one of the best moments of my writing career. I wouldn’t have become a writer without libraries.”
Come along to the library, at Wallsend Customer First Centre, on Thursday 30 March, from 2.30pm, to hear Elly talk and answer questions about her book and career as an author.
Copies of her books will be available to buy on the day and Elly will be signing copies. Booking is essential for this event and tickets are just £2 (including refreshments), payable in advance at any North Tyneside Library or by calling 0191 643 2075.
