Tynemouth Station will host free LEGO workshops next week as part of the borough’s Summer Festival programme.
The fun and interactive play sessions will take place along the station platform between 10am and 4pm on Monday 21 August through to Friday 25 August.
Families can get creative with a wide variety of Lego and can also develop new skills with Build IT - an organisation devoted to developing maker skills in young people using new technology.
The event is a drop-in with a maximum of 30 people at any one time. Small children must be supervised at all times.
The Spanish City Plaza will see more circus street entertainers at the weekend on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August, hosted by Matt Barnard.
Some of the world’s best street artists will entertain the crowds, including UK acts Felicity Footloose, Maynard Flip Flap and Matthew Tiffany, as well as Britain’s Got Talent stars, Afrikan Warriors, from Tanzania.
Shows will take place between 12noon and 3.30pm and visitors can expect lots of laughter and audience participation.
Further events will take place throughout the summer holidays including storytelling sessions. The events are organised by North Tyneside Council and are free to attend.
Elsewhere, Whitley Bay Kite Festival will take place along the Links on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August with spectacular kite displays by some of the UK’s best kite makers. There are also lots of other exciting things to see and do at parks, libraries and attractions across the borough.
