A show of respect

Cllr Carole Burdis

People affected by anti-social behaviour can receive advice and support at a special roadshow in Whitley Bay.

Organised by North Tyneside Council’s community protection team, the Respect Roadshow will offer help for those experiencing anti-social behaviour as well as crime prevention advice.

Northumbria Police and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service will be in attendance, and local charities and health organisations will also be there.

The event is being held at Park View Shopping Mall on Tuesday 27 March, 11am to 2pm.

Ahead of the event, Cllr Carole Burdis, cabinet member for Community Safety said: “North Tyneside is one of the safest places to live in the country and we want to keep it that way.

“The Respect Roadshows are a great way for us to engage with the local community and help us to address any concerns they may have.

“These events have been very successful in the past; residents have found it helpful being able to speak to our staff and other agencies in person – and I would really encourage anyone with concerns to come along.

“By running this roadshow together, with partners from the different organisations, it also helps to strengthen our message that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in North Tyneside.”
