North Tyneside War Veterans are being invited to apply for a special lapel badge to mark Armed Forces Day.
Veterans are invited to attend a presentation at North Tyneside Council on Monday 25 June at 10am. The event will see the Chair of the Council presenting lapel badges, followed by light refreshments and the raising of the flag.
Anyone who has served in the armed forces, including the volunteer and regular reserves is entitled to apply for the badge. Veterans must live in North Tyneside and those who have previously been presented with a lapel badge cannot apply again.
Those eligible should contact North Tyneside Council who will send applications to the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency, and if successful, will be invited to the presentation ceremony.
The event is organised by North Tyneside Council, with the support of North Tyneside War Veterans Committee, and is part of a programme of events that have been arranged for national Armed Forces Day.
The deadline for applications is Friday 25 May 2018.
