Families in North Tyneside are urged to take advantage of free childcare.
Eligible working parents of children aged three and four years old are now entitled to 30 hours of free childcare.
Children become eligible for free childcare the term after they turn three. The offer can help ease the financial burden of childcare for working parents and help ensure their children get access to high quality childcare and early education.
Parents can find out more and check if they are eligible for the 30 hour entitlement using the Government’s Childcare Choices website: https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
Parents must register using the Childcare Choices website the term before they want to take the 30 hour entitlement. Parents wanting to take up their 30 hour entitlement during autumn term 2018 must apply to Childcare Choices by 31 August 2018.
Anyone registering with Childcare Choices after this date will not be able to claim until spring term 2019.
