North Tyneside Council is asking tenants to help shape its future repairs and maintenance service.
From 1 April 2019, construction, housing repairs and maintenance services – currently delivered by Kier North Tyneside – will return to the direct management of the council.
The local authority is busy planning the transfer and continues to work closely with Kier North Tyneside to ensure the transition is smooth.
To ensure residents’ priorities are fully considered, the council is asking tenants to complete a short questionnaire.
Encouraging people to fill out the survey, Cllr Steve Cox, cabinet member for Housing, said: “We are committed to delivering the best possible service to our tenants and providing value for money for their rent.
“We have held engagement sessions with our tenant involvement group from the outset, to discuss options around the repairs service from April 2019, and the views of those involved have been invaluable in shaping our decisions.
“However, we are keen to gather the views of as many tenants as possible, so I would encourage people to fill in the questionnaire.”
Topics included in the questionnaire include self-help, appointment times, repair priorities and customer satisfaction.
It’s available to complete online here or in the borough’s Customer First Centres.
All tenants are welcome to join the tenant involvement group and have their say on housing services. For more information, visit the council’s website and search for ‘get involved’.
