Special thank you visit for Shared Lives carers

To celebrate Shared Lives week, North Tyneside Council's Shared Lives team visited all the long-term carers in the borough to thank them for the tremendous support they have provided to the vulnerable adults they share their home and family life with.

It was also in recognition of their commitment and resilience during the lockdown. They have provided much needed support and reassurance over the past three months in very difficult circumstances. Thank you cards and cakes were presented and goody bags with crafts and a cake were presented to all the clients who live with their Shared Lives carers.

Shared Lives carers share their home and family life with a vulnerable adult who needs support to live everyday life.

Support can be for regular short breaks, accessing community activities or if you have room in your heart for someone to move in with you for months or years.

Shared Lives carers give a helping hand to someone getting dressed, making friends, getting to the doctor’s, cooking and developing independent living skills.
