Town centre shoppers are in for some festive cheer this week as the borough’s Christmas lights are switched on in various locations.
Stunning motifs are being switched on in Whitley Bay, Wallsend, Tynemouth, Forest Hall, Whitley Lodge, Monkseaton, and North Shields in the town centre, on the Fish Quay and in Northumberland Square.
The theme for this year’s displays is ‘classic elegance’, with a focus on white, white gold and gold modern LED lights, providing a beautiful winter shimmer to some of North Tyneside’s best loved places.
Large Christmas trees will also be appearing on roundabouts and in communities across North Tyneside, illuminated to add some festive cheer.
