Successful bid for funding to install two new Changing Places Facilities

North Tyneside Council has been successful in bidding for funding to install two new Changing Places Facilities in the borough.

The bid to the government's Changing Places Fund included plans for facilities to be installed at Whitley Park, Whitley Bay, and the Fish Quay, North Shields, both of which have been successful.

The authority will be topping up the £100,000 funding with money from the Transforming Cities fund and the authority's own co-funding resource.

Deputy Mayor Cllr. Carl Johnson said, “We strive to make North Tyneside as inclusive and accessible as possible, so we are delighted to have been successful in bidding for this funding to install two Changing Places Toilets.

“They will mean that people with additional needs will have access to the facilities they need to get out and about, and enjoy the activities that many of us take for granted.”
