North Tyneside Council has launched its free Carbon Reduction Award Scheme to help local organisations make a positive difference by reducing their own carbon emissions and tackling climate change.
The scheme helps organisations gain a detailed understanding of energy and carbon reduction opportunities in their relative organisational setting. Participating organisations will receive support and resources to help reduce their carbon footprint, becoming more efficient and profitable in the process.
Upon award, participants will receive a certificate and window display sticker which demonstrates their commitment to carbon reduction. Customers can be assured they are making a sustainable choice with an environmentally conscious organisation.
Cllr Sandra Graham, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “We have many brilliant businesses here in North Tyneside that are already making a difference through carbon reduction measures and many more who would like help to do so.
“As an organisation, we are making big in roads in reducing our carbon footprint and are committed to working towards being carbon net-zero by 2030 – so we are well-placed to help businesses in their efforts.
“I would really encourage all businesses to sign up to the scheme.”
