Food festival by the coast returns

A popular food festival will return to one of the North East's most stunning locations this spring, with tickets now on sale.

Tynemouth Food Festival will take place at Tynemouth Priory and Castle, on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May, from 10am until 5pm.

People can expect some of the region’s best street food and pop-up bars, local market traders, live music and family entertainment.

Food traders confirmed include Di Meo’s, Scream for Pizza, Acropolis, Fat Hippo, Spud Gun Loaded Fries, Goodtime Tacos, Redheads Mac’n’Cheese, and many more.

There will also be a festival bar stocking North East craft beers and ciders by Anarchy Brew Co, alongside special gin and cocktail trailers.

A selection of independent traders will be selling locally produced products and gifts, including Deep North, Baristocracy Coffee, Clarence Spirits, Screaming Chimp Chilli Sauce, Weardale Cheese, Pie Demand, Eli’s Bakery and many more.

There will be lots of space to sit and listen to live music from local musicians and community choirs, as well as some great activities for children including; cooking classes with Fun Little Foodies, craft and messy play sessions with ARTventurers, face painting, drop-in sports sessions and recycling crafty fun.

Advance tickets are available now from www.seetickets.com and are priced at £3.75 for adults (plus booking fee), guaranteeing entry on the day. Children aged 15 and under are free, when accompanied by an adult.

The event is organised by North Tyneside Council.
