North Tyneside Council is hosting a dedicated event for local suppliers and contractors.
The Council’s Property services team is hosting a series of sessions for local contractors, where they can discover tendering opportunities on offer in the area ranging from £25,000 to £5,000,000.
North Tyneside Council are looking for skilled construction professionals and suppliers to deliver a variety of works, including housing repairs, housing improvement works and across our schools and public buildings. There are opportunities for a wide variety of trades including painting, joinery, electrical works, heating installations and general building works as well as compliance testing, stock condition surveying and architectural design support.
The event, which will take place on 8 November, will highlight the different types of contracts available in North Tyneside and how contractors can register to tender for opportunities.
The event will cater to a range of contractors, with three sessions planned, for larger contractors, material suppliers and smaller contractors.
Tailored presentations will be delivered at each session, covering: an overview of upcoming works, information about how to tender and the application process, and specialised guidance on how to sign up to the North East Purchasing Organisation (NEPO) portal.
Representatives from NEPO, North Tyneside Business Forum and North Tyneside Council will be in attendance.
Head of Property Services at North Tyneside Council, David Foster said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for local contractors and suppliers to hear about the opportunities and contracts coming up and work out what they might be interested in.
“The Council wants to work with local contractors and suppliers and see them thrive, and we’re eager to support contractors through the process of tendering.
“I would encourage all contractors and suppliers to come along and find out what opportunities there are to work with North Tyneside.”
The event will take place at the Linskill Centre, North Shields, with three presentations:
3pm - for larger contracts above the value of £500,000
4pm - for materials suppliers
5pm - for smaller contracts below the value of £500,000
