Funding for the refurbishment, upgrade, or extension of community organisation premises in Longbenton, Camperdown and Weetslade is now available to apply for.
The £400,000 capital grant fund will support established community organisations and groups to improve or enhance their premises for the benefit of the local community.
Works can range from window and roof replacements to extensions to create additional space.
With the community at the heart of the funding, the criteria covers work to make buildings more secure and accessible too. That means funding can be used for ramps, lifts, upgraded heating systems and more.
The pot of funding was secured by us earlier this year as part of a successful bid for £1.5 million UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) from the Government by the North East Combined Authority.
Today’s announcement is the latest grant to be shared with residents and organisations in Longbenton, Camperdown and Weetslade, with successful small and medium grant schemes still open to applications.
Applications for the grant funding are only open for one month and will close at midnight on 28 June 2024.
If you believe your organisation could benefit, full guidance, criteria and application details are available on North Tyneside VODA’s website.
