Community and Voluntary sector organisations in North Tyneside can now bid for grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 to support community initiatives.
Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the medium grant is designed to support community projects in the North West of the borough.
From closing gaps in provision to creating new volunteering opportunities, organisations are encouraged to bid for the funding to provide new opportunities for residents.
Whether that’s covering salary costs to run additional programmes or funding the start of a new activity or group, the Council is keen to receive applications for a wide range of schemes.
It’s expected that more than 10 projects will be benefit from the funding.
North Tyneside VODA's Deputy Chief Executive Keith Hardy said: “We are delighted to be working with North Tyneside Council on this investment programme helping the residents of the North West of the Borough and look forward to supporting the successful applicants in their project delivery.”
In order to apply an organisation must have an income of less than £2m and all projects must take place in Weetslade, Camperdown or Longbenton.
Grants can be used for additional salary costs, staff travel, training, equipment, publicity and promotion, room hire and other project-related expenses.
Applications for funding close at 4pm on Sunday 30 June 2024.
