Work has now been completed, and the speed limit reinstated, on one of North Tyneside’s major roads.
Following a regular safety review, it was found that the central reservation safety barrier on the A1058 Coast Road had shown sign of corrosion. To ensure the safety of road users and prevent any further issues, we made the decision to carry out repair works across the road.
We are pleased to say that these works have officially been completed.
The temporary speed limits that had been in place while the works were carried out has been removed, with the 70mph speed limit now reinstated. Signage has been adjusted to reflect this.
