Renowned author to visit North Tyneside library

Literary fans are invited to an event with award winning author Andrew Hankinson, whose recent novel featured one of the North’s most infamous fugitives.

Andrew, who was born, raised and lives in Newcastle, won the Northern Writers Awards Time To Write Prize for his compelling nonfiction novel based on the last days of the fugitive Raoul Moat, ‘You Could Do Something Amazing With Your Life (You Are Raoul Moat)’.

The novel re-tells Moat's story using Moat's words, and those of the state services which engaged with him, bringing the reader disarmingly close at all times to the mind of Moat.

Andrew will discuss his life and works on Monday 27 March at 7pm at Killingworth Library.

Andrew started his career as a staff writer at Arena magazine and is now a freelance feature writer. He has also had his work published in the Guardian, New Statesman, Spectator, The Independent, Esquire, Grazia, ShortList, The Observer, Men’s Health and GQ.

He was given an Author’s Foundation prize by the Society of Authors in 2014 and won a Northern Writers Award in 2012.

Over the course of his career Andrew has written about crime, technology, adventure and a wide range of other subjects.

Tickets for the event are £3 and for further information or to book your place contact  (0191) 643 2040 or any North Tyneside Library.
