Applications for one of North Tyneside’s premier gardening competitions have now closed.
The annual North Tyneside in Bloom invites residents, businesses, schools and community groups to exhibit the dedication and hard-work that goes into maintaining their gardens and outdoor areas.
Judging will now take place throughout July and August to pick winners across a number of categories, ranging from the brand new ‘Love Your Street’ category to ‘Conservation and Wildlife’.
Cllr John Stirling, cabinet member with responsibility for the Environment, said: “North Tyneside in Bloom is a great opportunity for residents to show off the time and effort they put into their gardens and outdoor areas.
“I would like to personally thank everyone who has entered the competition and I look forward to seeing some of the fantastic entries.”
With support from the Wyevale Gosforth Garden Centre, who is sponsoring prizes to the winners in each category, the competition is able to reward people for helping the borough blossom and enhance its reputation as a scenic location.
