Mental Health in Later Life Strategy 2017-22

Consultation details

We developed the Mental Wellbeing in Later Life, North Tyneside Joint Strategy, to set out how North Tyneside Council and North Tyneside CCG intend to improve mental health and dementia services and also support older people and carers. We also want to ensure that there is targeted prevention for people at risk of mental ill health and early intervention for older people with symptoms of mental illness.
The Draft Strategy was circulated to a range of organisations that support older people and also those with mental health problems for comment, including Healthwatch North Tyneside and the Community Health and Care Forum for wider circulation, to ensure that we have understood what is important to older people in North Tyneside and also whether people were in agreement with the response to the issues we have identified. This was also the opportunity for people to tell us about anything they felt was missing. The feedback received will be reviewed and incorporated into the final document. It is anticipated the final strategy will be published in April 2018. The authority would like to thank everyone who shared their views as part of this engagement exercise.
