Popular festival returns to the borough

An annual Christmas festival will return to North Tyneside this weekend.

As part of this year’s St Nicholas Winter Festival, Whitley Bay will welcome a range of stallholders selling traditional gifts and produce.

Organised by North Tyneside Council, the ever-popular festival will take place across Friday 30 November (12pm – 5pm) and Saturday 1 December (10am – 4pm), hosting around 25 stalls and a variety of entertainment.

The annual lantern parade will start at 4.15pm on the Friday at Marine Park First School, leading to marine Avenue before heading along Park View and finishing at St Paul’s Church.

Whitley Women will be joining the festivities and performing Christmas carols along Park View on the Friday between 4.15pm and 4.45pm and along Whitley Road on the Saturday from 11am.

There will be fairground rides along Whitley Road and St Paul’s Church will be hosting their annual table top sale between 10am and 2pm on the Saturday.
