'Find your future' with adult learning programme

Press release: An abstract view of the Council crest

Learning new skills in North Tyneside has never been easier, with a flurry of courses and opportunities for adults to take part in.

North Tyneside Council’s Adult Learning service has once again teamed up with TyneMet College to offer their joint prospectus for adult learning and skills courses for 2020-21.

This year’s course guide is packed full of opportunities for participants to improve skills, enhance career prospects or simply try out something new.

Residents can sign up to study everything from Counselling to Computing, Photography to French. There is also a wide range of English and maths courses available.

Ofsted has recognised North Tyneside Council’s Adult Learning service as ‘good’ and provides a ‘very effective’ level of support to help local people identify opportunities, develop new skills, and enhance their career prospects.

The latest prospectus contains everything residents need to know about up-and-coming learning opportunities across the borough, and how to enrol on a programme of study.

Information about costs and how to pay are also included; many readers will find that they will be able to study for free, or at a reduced price. All of the courses listed have been designed to offer great value for money.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, dozens of new courses are delivered by distance learning, offering a flexible way of studying, in your own time, without the need to attend a classroom.  It fits round other commitments such as work and family so you can learn at a time, place and pace that suits you.

Our new digital outreach team will help to get you connected, visiting local communities to build confidence and develop skills on mobile phones, tablets and with technology for work. ook out for them – and our volunteer digital champions – in your local community or contact us to find out more.
