We have Warm Welcome venues across the borough to extend support to residents by offering a comfortable space to relax.
Over the Christmas and New Year period, the open time of Council run hubs will slightly change.
Our libraries will be closed from the 23rd December through to the 2nd January. In this time, our Customer First Centres will reopen on Wednesday 28th, Thursday 29th and Friday 30th December between 9am and 5.30pn. They'll also be open on Saturday 31st December between 9am and 1pm. Customers are welcome into the building at any time, but free hot drinks are available at the following dates and times:
- Wednesday 28th - 9.30am -12.30pm at North Shields CFC
- Wednesday 28th - 10am - 4pm at Wallsend CFC
- Friday 30th - 9.30am -12pm at Whitley Bay CFC
- Friday 30th - 2.30pm – 5pm at North Shields CFC
- Saturday 31st - 10am – 12.30pm at Wallsend CFC
- Saturday 31st - 10am – 12.30pm White Swan
John Willie Sams Centre will be open until 7pm on weekdays (28th to 30th December) and until 5pm on Saturdays (24th and 31st December).
The Oxford Centre will be open until 8pm on weekdays (28th to 30th December) and until 5pm on Saturdays (24th and 31st December). Hot drinks will be available in the café area between 9am and 4pm weekdays and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays.
Please note, the hubs are not means-tested and is available for all residents.
