Sections of Bridleways Killingworth 1 & 2 Temporary Restriction of Traffic Order 2018

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has received a direction from the Secretary of State for Transport under Section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.  The effect of the direction is that the North Tyneside Council (Sections of Bridleways Killingworth 1 & 2) (Temporary Restriction of Traffic) Order 2018 will continue to be in force until 22 April 2025, or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The Order prohibits all through traffic on Bridleway Killingworth 2 across the Moorfields housing development, Killingworth, as and when relevant signs are displayed.

An alternative route will be available via a path running parallel to the East Coast Main Railway Line and the A1056 Killingworth Way which may be subject to alterations as the site progresses. Bridleway Killingworth 1 is now fully open. The Order is required because works are being executed on and near the Bridleway.
