Paul Heaton announces Mouth of the Tyne Festival show

Paul Heaton has announced a very special show at Tynemouth Priory and Castle on Saturday 8 July as part of this year’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival, organised by North Tyneside Council.

He’s back, five years after his last sell-out show at the spectacular venue, to perform tracks from throughout his career including classics from The Beautiful South and The Housemartins.

Paul, who is known for hits including Caravan of Love, Happy Hour and Song for Whoever, will be joined by a special guest singer who will be revealed soon.

North Tyneside’s Elected Mayor, Dame Norma Redfearn DBE, said “We’re really happy to bring such a great artist back to the festival and I know there’ll be lots of people looking forward to seeing him this summer.”

Mouth of the Tyne Festival, supported by Capita and Port of Tyne, is now in its 17th year and features big outdoor concerts, a programme of free street entertainment, huge community parade and special intimate shows at Playhouse Whitley Bay.

Tickets for post-punk legend Siouxsie on Friday 7 July and Brit Award-winning Gabrielle on Sunday 9 July are already on sale and full details of the free street entertainment will be revealed soon.

Tickets for Paul Heaton and special guests go on sale at 9am this Friday at www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.seetickets.com.
