An adoption agency in the North East is hitting the road in a bid to encourage Wearside residents to consider adoption.
Thanks to a full rear bus advert, Adopt North East is sharing it’s call for adopters across the North East to help find children their forever homes. Every year, Adopt North East welcomes nearly one hundred applications from prospective adopters.
The bus, based at Stagecoach’s Sunderland depot, will feature the advert for a full year to inspire more prospective adopters to start their adoption journeys.
The message is clear – by choosing adoption you can change a child’s life.
There’s currently 30 of children awaiting adoption, including older children and sibling groups and the adoption agency is looking for families who can keep children together to allow them to maintain their close bonds.
Nik Flavell, Senior Manager at Adopt North East, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing adoption to the roads in such a spectacular fashion and I hope it encourages more people to stop and think about whether adoption could be for them.
“We have children of all ages and backgrounds currently waiting for adoption, and adopters don’t have to be from the same area in order to adopt. We’re open to anyone who believes they could provide a child with a safe and loving home.
“I’d encourage anyone who has considered adoption, or those who simply want to know more about the process and what’s involved, to speak to our teams or attend one of our events to find out more. It could be the first step in changing your life.”
