(Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2022  and (On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 Variation Orders 2024

 

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made Variation Orders under Sections 1, 2, 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the orders, which will come into force on 20 February 2024, will be to vary the following orders as detailed below:

 

the North Tyneside (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2022, so that:

 

no waiting at any time restrictions be introduced on:

 

a)          Rear Preston Road (east), North Shields on both sides, between its junction with Trevor Terrace and its junction with the unnamed lane south of Trevor Terrace.

b)          Rear Trevor Terrace (south), North Shields on both sides, from its junction with Trevor Terrace, in a southerly direction for a distance of 23 metres then an easterly direction for a distance of 7 metres.

c)           Links Avenue, Cullercoats on its south-east side, from its junction with Links Road to a point 16 metres south-west of that junction

d)          Links Road, Cullercoats on its south-west side, from its junction with Links Avenue to a point 120 metres south-east of that junction.

e)           Park Avenue, North Shields on its

(i)        South-west side, from its junction with King Edward Road to a point 4 metres south-east of that junction.

(ii)       North-east side, from its junction with King Edward Road to a point 12 metres south-east of that junction.

f)            King Edward Road, North Shields on its South-east side, from a point 5 metres south-west of its junction with Park Avenue to a point 16 metres north-east of that junction.

g)          Howdon Lane, Howdon on its East side, from a point 16 metres north of its junction with Rutherford Street to a point 33 metres south of that junction.

h)          Rutherford Street, Howdon on both sides, from its junction with Howdon Lane to a point 10 metres north-east of that junction.

i)            Martin Road, Howdon on   Both sides, from its junction with Howdon Lane to a point 15 metres south-west of that junction.  

j)            Dudley Drive, Dudley on its

(i)       South side, from a point 10 metres west of its western junction with Craig Crescent to a point 10 metres east of that junction.

(ii)      West side, from a point 10 metres north of its eastern junction with Craig Crescent to a point 10 metres south of that junction.

k)                       Craig Crescent, Dudley on its

(i)          Both sides, from its eastern junction with Dudley Drive to a point 10 metres west of that junction.

(ii)         Both sides, from its western junction with Dudley Drive to a point 10 metres south of that junction.

l)      Coquet Avenue, Whitley Bay on its North-west side, from a point 27 metres south-west of its junction with Park Road to a point 59 metres south-west of that junction.

Clifford’s Fort Moat, North Shields on its:

West and south sides, from its junction with Clifford Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 32 metres then a westerly direction for a distance of 10 metres.
East side, from its junction with Clifford Street to its junction with the Low Lights Car Park.

Clifford Street, North Shields on its North side, from its junction with Clifford’s Fort Moat to a point 10 metres west of that junction.
Brewhouse Bank, North Shields on its:
North-east side, between its junction with Union Road and a point 141 metres north-west of that junction.
South-west side, from its junction with Bird Street to a point 10 metres south-east of that junction.
Bird Street, North Shields on both sides, from its junction with East Percy Street to a point 11 metres south-west of that junction.
East Percy Street, North Shields on its South-west side, from its junction with Bird Street to a point 9 metres north-west of that junction.
Verne Road, North Shields on its North-west side, from a point 20 metres south-west of its junction with Heaton Terrace to a point 36 metres south-west of that junction.

 

no waiting at any time restrictions be revoked on:

Item 94 (i) – Brewhouse Bank, North Shields
Item 99 (v) & (vi) - Brightman Road, North Shields
Item 100 - Brightman Road (Cul-de-sac), North Shields

 

no waiting restriction between 8.00am – 6.00pm on Monday to Saturday to be revoked on:

Item 77 – Spence Terrace, North Shields

 

no waiting between 8.00am – 6.00pm on Monday to Saturday to be introduced on:

Brightman Road, North Shields on its South-west side, between a point 10 metres north-west of its junction with Albion Road and a point 133 metres north-west of that junction.

 

no waiting between 9.00am – 5.00pm on Monday to Saturday to be revoked on:

Item 1 – Brightman Road, North Shields

 

a no stopping on school entrance markings restriction, operational between 8.15am – 9.15am and 3.00pm - 4.00pm on Monday to Friday to be introduced on:

on Howdon Lane, Howdon (Stephenson Memorial Primary School) on its West side, from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Martin Road to a point 37 metres south of its junction with Hazelwood Terrace.

 

a no stopping on school entrance markings restriction, between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday be introduced on:

Access road to Spring Gardens Primary School, North Shields on both sides, from its junction with Brightman Road to a point 61 metres west of that junction.
Brightman Road, North Shields (Spring Gardens Primary School) on South-west side, from a point 10 metres north-west of its junction with the access road to Spring Gardens Primary School to a point 15 metres south-east of that junction.

 

 

the North Tyneside (On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 so that:

 

1.    parking places without charges, limited to a maximum duration of stay of 2 hours with no return within 2 hours, operational between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Saturday be introduced on:

a) Spence Terrace, North Shields on its:

North side, from a point 27 metres east of its junction with Hawkey’s Lane to a point 39 metres east of that junction.
North side, from a point 47 metres east of its junction with Hawkey’s Lane to a point 57 metres east of that junction.
North side, from a point 64 metres east of its junction with Hawkey’s Lane to a point 75 metres east of that junction.

 

Parking places without charges, limited to a maximum duration of stay of 2 hours with no return within 4 hours, operational between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Saturday be introduced on:

West Mount, Killingworth on its South side, from a point 50 metres west of its junction with Citadel West to a point 72 metres west of that junction.

 

3.         Parking Places with a Parking Charge, operational between 9.00am and 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, with exemptions for permit holders, be introduced on Coquet Avenue, Whitley Bay on its:

north-west side, from a point 5 metres north-east of its junction with the un-named road at the rear of Park View to a point 59 metres south-west of its junction with Park Road.

north-west side, from a point 15 metres south-west of its junction with Park Road to a point 27 metres south-west of that junction.

 

4.         Parking Places with a Parking Charge, operational between 9.00am and 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, be revoked on Coquet Avenue, Whitley Bay on its north side, from a point 5 metres east of its junction with the un-named road at the rear of Park View to a point 15 metres west of its junction with Park Road.

 

6.         Properties to be added to a list of properties eligible for the issue of permits and vouchers:

a)        Whitley Road – Nos. 1 to 5 (consecutive) and Craigmont Court, West Avenue – Nos. 1 to 16 (consecutive) (limited to one resident’s visitor permit per household) (Zone BEN1, Benton)

Northumberland Close – Nos. 1 to 17 (consecutive) (limited to one resident’s visitor permit per household), Bishops Court, Sidney Street – Nos. 1 to 10 (consecutive) (limited to one resident’s visitor permit per household), Newcastle Street – No. 26 and West Percy Street – Nos. 115, 115a, 115b, 115c and 117 (Zone NS3, North Shields)
Bath Terrace – No. 15 (TM1, Tynemouth)
Station Road – Nos. 88a, 88b, 88c and 88d (WD6, Wallsend)

 

7.            Station Road No. 80 to be revoked from the list of properties eligible for the issue of permits, (Zone WD6, Wallsend).
