TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Orders prohibits all through traffic on the following as and when signage indicates:
Killingworth
On Station Road, Killingworth's level crossing.
An alternate route is available via Station Road, Northumbrian Way, Southgate, Great Lime Road, Park Terrace, Moorside, Killingworth Drive
The Order is required to gain access to the level crossing to remove scrap rail and will come into force on 17 March 2024 for a period not exceeding 1 day. Working hours will be from 22:30 until 05:30.

North Shields
on Alma Place Lane from the rear of 31 to 40 Alma Place.
An alternate route is available via Grosvenor Place, Alma Place, Preston Road. Access to be given to residents/refuge.
The temporary Order is required to install poly ducting within the carriageway and will come into force on 21 March 2024 lasting until 5 April 2024.

On Cleveland Road Lane from the of rear 37 until 41.
An alternate route is available via Cleveland Terrace, Grosvenor Place.
The temporary Order is required for pipe renewals and will come into force on 18 March 2024 for a period not exceeding 6 days.

On Trevor Terrace Lane from the junction with Trevor Terrace to a point approx 4m south of this junction.
An alternate route is available via Trevor Terrace, Drummond Terrace, Trevor Terrace Lane.
The temporary Order is required to install poly duct within the carriageway and will come into force on 18 March 2024 for a period not exceeding 6 days.

North Tyneside
On both the westbound and eastbound inside lane on the Coast Road. This will be in effect from the junction with Churchill Street to the junction with Benfield Road.
A speed reduction of 30mph will be in effect to accompany the lane closures.
The temporary Order is required for the replacement of VRS barrier in central reservation and will come into force on 18 March 2024 lasting until the 31 May 2024.

Tynemouth
On Edith Street Lane from the junction with Dene Road to behind number 2 Edith Street.
An alternate route is available via Dene Road, Algernon Terrace, Edith Street, Edith Street Lane.
The temporary Order is required to install poly ducting within the carriageway and will come into force on 21 March 2024 lasting until the 2 April 2024.

On Percy Gardens Cottages from outside numbers 5-8.
An alternate route is available via Percy Gardens Lane At Side And Rear Of 48-grand Hotel, Back Percy Gardens, Percy Street Lane At Rear Of 60-77.
The temporary Order is required to excavate and install a boundary box and will come into force on 18 March 2024 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

On Churchill Street from outside number 280 to 298.
There is no alternative route. Access to be maintained for residents.
The temporary Order is required for carriageway resurfacing and will come into force on 20 March 2024 for a period not exceeding 9 days.

An alternate route is available via North Terrace Lane At Side And Rear Of 1-56, North Terrace, North Terrace Lane Between 37 And 38 Linking To South Terrace.
The temporary Order is required to renew a water service due to lead content and will come into force on 18 March 2024 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

Whitley Bay
On Duke Street Lane from behind numbers 9 to 13.
An alternate route is available via Park View Lane At Rear Of 107-129, Park View Lane At Rear Of 91-105, Alnwick Avenue Lane At Side And Rear Of 1-20, Norham Road, Percy Avenue Lane At Side And Rear Of 1-30, Duke Street Lane At Side And Rear Of 1-25.
The temporary Order is required to renew a lead service and
will come into force on 18 March 2024 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

On Gladstone Avenue Lane at the rear of number 6.
There is no alternative route, however access to be given to residents where possible.
The temporary Order is required to renew a comm pipe and
will come into force on 25 March 2024 for a period not exceeding 6 days.
