(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of this Order will be to introduce a temporary speed restriction on the Coast Road (A1058) from:

The national speed limit to 30mph between the boundary of Newcastle’s District to adjacent the roundabout at the Silverlink.

Lane closures will also be in effect closest to the central reservation.

The proposed temporary speed restriction is required to install a new central reservation barrier and to provide safe working areas.

The Order will come into force on 2 September 2024 lasting until 25 February 2025. Working hours will from 19:00 – 06:00.
