TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Orders prohibits all through traffic on the following, and as and when signage indicates:
North Shields
On Chirton West View Lane from the junction with Chirton West View to behind number 14 Chirton West View.
An alternate route is available via Chirton West View, West Percy Road West.
The Order is required to install polyduct within the carriageway and will come into force on 16 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 12 days.

on East Norfolk Street from the junction with Stephenson Street to a point approx. 20m west of this.
An alternate route is available via Stephenson Street, Suez Street, Norfolk Street.
The Order is required for a connection installation on a new development site and will come into force on 23 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 9 days.

on Grey Street Lane from the junction with North King Street to the rear of number 14 Grey Street.
An alternate route is available via Grey Street Lane, Linskill Terrace, Grey Street, North King Street.
The Order is required to install polyduct within the carriageway and will come into force on 25 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 14 days.

On Railway Terrace Lane, from the junction with William Street to behind number 22 William Street.
An alternate route is available via William Street, Rudyerd Street.

On Spring Terrace Lane At Rear Of 2-26 from the junction with Albion Road to the rear of 6 Spring Terrace.
There is no alternative route however access to be given to residents/refuge where possible.
The Order is required to install polyduct within the carriageway and will come into force on 16 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 12 days.

Forest Hall
On Briar Edge from outside numbers 6 to 16.
An alternate route is available via Briar Edge, Glebe Road, Great Lime Road, Forest Hall Road, Station Road North and in reverse order.
The Order is required to carry out sewer repair works and will come into force on 16 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

Tynemouth
On the southbound lanes of both Grand Parade and Beverley Terrace.
Southbound traffic will utilise the northbound lane, while Northbound traffic will utilise the following diversion route: Beach Road, The Broadway, Mast Lane and Marden Avenue. There will be on site signage to indicate this.
Residents access along this route will be maintained.
The Order is required for the construction of cycle way/footpath and installation of crossing points and will come into force on 30 September 2024 lasting until 30 April 2025.

Wallsend
on Laurel Street Lane from the rear of 96-102 Laurel Steet.
An alternate route is available via Park Road Lane, Vine Street, Lawson Street
The Order is required to excavate and renew a lead service and will come into force on 30 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 6 days.

An alternate route is available via Hadrian Road, Station Road, North Road, Park Road
The Order is required for carriageway resurfacing works and will come into force on 30 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 14 days. Road will only be closed in sections as and where signage dictates.

Whitley Bay
On Kew Gardens Lane from the junction with Ilfracombe Gardens Lane to behind number 6 Kew Gardens. An alternate route is available via Ilfracombe Gardens Lane, Kew Gardens, Queens Road Lane.
The Order is required to renew a water service due to lead content and will come into force on 23 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 5 days.
