NORTH TYNESIDE REMEMBRANCE PARADES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Tyneside Council will make the following Order on 16 September 2024.

 

Under the provisions of section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, the North Tyneside Council hereby order that between the hours stated in this notice on the below dates the following regulations will be observed to prevent obstruction of the streets during the time of a public events:

 

Monday 11 November 2024

 

White Swan Centre, Killingworth

A civic service of Remembrance will be held at the Post 1945 Jig Saw Memorial at 11.00 am.  The service will be followed by the laying of wreaths and Remembrance Crosses.

There is no procession on Monday 11 November 2024.

 

Sunday 10 November Parades

 

North Shields - Remembrance Sunday Parade:

Hawkeys Lane, North Shields – 10.55am

 

Road closure from 10am Hawkeys Lane, North Shields until 12 noon.

 

From 9am to 12noon Hawkeys Lane at its junction will Lansdowne Terrace and Spring Gardens will be permanently closed

 

Whitley Bay - Remembrance Sunday Parade

The Links, Whitley Bay – 3.00pm

 

A rolling closure will be in place from 2.15pm and will proceed along the following:  Station Road, Victoria Terrace, Whitley Road, Park Avenue, Marine Avenue & Watts Slope until 3.00pm

 

Tynemouth - Remembrance Sunday Parade
War Memorial, Village Green Tynemouth -11.00am

A rolling closure will be in place from 10.15am and will proceed along the following: Huntingdon Place and Manor Road between Huntingdon Place and the junction with Percy Park Road, Tynemouth until 11.35am.

Manor Road will be closed for the duration of the service from 11.35 to approximately 12noon.

 

Wallsend - Remembrance Sunday Parade

Burn Close War Memorial Wallsend - 11.00am

 

A rolling closure will be in place from 10.30am and will proceed along the following: Richardson Street, High Street East, Church Bank, St Peters Road, Burn Bank, Archer Street and Burn Close finishing and then return back along the same roads returning to Wallsend Town Hall at 12.00 noon.

 

Forest Hall - Remembrance Sunday Parade

Longbenton District Remembrance Parade, Forest Hall Institute Club - 11.00am

 

A rolling closure will be in place from 10.25am and will proceed along the following: Crescent Way North, Forrest Hall Road, Station Road and Station Road North finishing at 11.15am.

 

Wideopen - Remembrance Sunday Parade

Wideopen Squadron Air Training Corps - 10.55am

 

A rolling closure will be in place from 10.30am and will proceed along the following: Bridge Street heading North along the B1318 to the Seaton Burn War Memorial and will then return South along the same road to St Columbas Church at 11.30am.

 

Shiremoor - Remembrance Sunday Service

Earsdon Road 11am Service  

Road closure 10:45am – 11:30am Earsdon Road at the junction with Lesbury Avenue

 

There are no alternative routes for any of the above parades on Sunday 10 November 2024.

 

The penalty for infringement of the said regulations is a fine.
