Variation Orders 2024
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made variation orders under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the orders, which will come into force on 31 March 2025, will be to vary the following orders as detailed below:
the North Tyneside (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2022, so that:
no waiting at any time restrictions be introduced on the following lengths of road:
Essex Gardens, Wallsend
Both sides, from its junction with St Cuthbert’s Road, to a point 10 metres north of that junction.
Great North Road, Wideopen
East side, from a point 10 metres north of its junction with the access to Lockey Park to a point 9 metres south of that junction.
Jackson Street, North Shields
Both sides, from its junction with Linskill Terrace to a point 5 metres east of that junction.
Jackson Street West, North Shields
Both sides, from its junction with Linskill Terrace to a point 5 metres west of that junction.
e) Linskill Terrace, North Shields
• Both sides, from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Jackson Street to a point 5 metres south of that junction.
f) Percy Park, Tynemouth
• South east side, from a point 10 south west of its junction with Seafield View to a point 9 metres north east of that junction.
g) Percy Park Road, Tynemouth
West side from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Seafield View to a point 13 metres south of that junction.
h) Seafield View, Tynemouth
Both sides, from its junction with Percy Park to a point 7 metres south east of that junction.
North side, from its junction with Percy Park Road to a point 7 metres west of that junction.
South side, from its junction with Percy Park Road to a point 8 metres west of that junction.
i) St Cuthbert’s Road, Wallsend
Both sides, from a point 10 metres west of its junction with St. Hilda’s Avenue, to a point 10 metres east of that junction.
j) St. Hilda’s Avenue, Wallsend
Both sides, from its junction with St Cuthbert’s Road, to a point 10 metres south of that junction.
South and east sides, from a point 52 metres west of its junction with Sussex Gardens, for a distance of 27 metres in a westerly then southerly direction.
South side, from its junction with Sussex Gardens to a point 13 metres west of that junction.
k) Sussex Gardens, Wallsend
West side, from its junction with St. Hilda’s Avenue to a point 14 metres south of that junction.
l) Un-named road connecting Rake Lane to Rosewood Close, North Shields
Both sides, from a point 7 metres south east of its junction with Rake Lane, to a point 158 metres south east of that junction.
no waiting at any time restrictions on the following lengths be amended so that they apply to the following extents:
North side from a point 3 metres west of its junction with the unnamed road to the rear of Percy Park Road to a point 3 metres east of that junction.
the North Tyneside (On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 so that:
Introduce Disabled Parking Place – Monday – Saturday, 8am – 6pm on the following:
Ilfracombe Gardens, Whitley Bay – south west side, from a point 16 metres north west of its junction with Balmoral Gardens, to a point 22 metres north west of that junction.
Introduce Disabled Parking Place – All days, All hours on the following:
Laburnum Avenue, Whitley Bay - east side, from a point 10 metres south of its junction with Whitley Road to a point 25 metres south of that junction.
Police Vehicle Parking Places on the following lengths of road be revoked:
Laburnum Avenue, Whitley Bay - east side, from a point 10 metres south of its junction with Whitley Road to a point 25 metres south of that junction.
4. Permit Holder Parking Places - Marked Bays on the following lengths be amended so that they operate all days, all hours and form part of the following zones :
Seafield View, Tynemouth – south-west side, from a point 8 metres west of its junction with Percy Park Road to a point 7 metres south-east its junction with Percy Park (TM2).
Stanwick Street, Tynemouth - north side, from a point 3 metres east of its junction with Percy Park Road to a point 5 metres west of its junction with Hotspur Street (TM1).
Stanwick Street, Tynemouth - south side, from a point 3 metres east of its junction with Percy Park Road to a point 5 metres west of its junction with Hotspur Street (TM1).
Syon Street, Tynemouth - north side, from a point 3 metres east of its junction with Percy Park Road to a point 3 metres west of the un-named road at the rear of Percy Park Road (TM1).
Syon Street, Tynemouth - north side, from a point 5 metres west of its junction with Hotspur Street to a point 3 metres east of the un-named road at the rear of Percy Park Road (TM1).
Syon street, Tynemouth - south side, from a point 3 metres east of its junction with Percy Park Road to a point 5 metres west of its junction with Hotspur Street (TM1).
5. Permit Holder Parking Places - Zones on the following lengths be amended so that they operate on the following days and form part of the following zones:
Un-named road linking Argyle Street (north) and Hotspur Street, Tynemouth - in its entirety on Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays during all hours (TM1 & TM2).
Un-named road linking Syon Street and Hotspur Street, Tynemouth – in its entirety on all days and all hours (TM1 & TM2).
Un-named road to the rear of Warkworth Terrace and Stanwick Street, Tynemouth - in its entirety on Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays during all hours (TM1 & TM2).
6. Streets for the purpose of the issue of Permits and Vouchers on the following lengths be amended so that they apply as follows:
All Stanwick Street and Syon Street be removed from TM2 zone.
All Stanwick Street and Syon Street be added to TM1 zone.
the North Tyneside (Traffic Movements) (Consolidation) Order 2022 so that:
a prohibition of entry for vehicular traffic be introduced into Melrose Gardens, Wallsend from Lonsdale Gardens, Wallsend and include exemptions (17(2) a, b, d and g)
a prohibition of entry for vehicular traffic be introduced into Henley Gardens, Wallsend from Melrose Gardens, Wallsend and include exemptions (17(2) a, b, d and g)
