TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order prohibits all through traffic on Promontory Terrace, Windsor Crescent, and Promenade, from the junction of Eskdale Terrace to Park Avenue (A193).
The diversion will be the same route currently being used for the one-way system, indicated by on site signage. There will be two-way traffic for Residents and Businesses with a rolling closure in sections from Eskdale Terrace to Park Avenue.
The temporary Order is required to facilitate road markings, traffic calming measures, and final resurfacing for the last phase of the Sustainable Seafront Scheme.
The Order will come into force on 2 July 2025 for a period not exceeding three weeks.
