Support for businesses

Supporting you

We are committed to supporting our businesses as much as we can through the cost-of-living pressures.

Our Business and Enterprise team offers general business start-up advice, recruitment and training support, financial guidance, and assistance with locating premises. You can find out more on our business support page.

Business rates

For information about business rates, including business rate relief, see our business rates page.

Energy costs

We recognise the impact of the rising cost of living on businesses across the borough. Although, we can’t help with rising costs, energy bills, supply chains etc for businesses, there are a number of resources, support and in some cases grants available to assist your business to reduce its carbon footprint and become more sustainable. Find out more on our green and environmental support page.

Energy Bill Relief scheme and Q&A session

From 1 April 2023, the Government will introduce the Energy Bill Discount Scheme for non-domestic customers, including businesses, the voluntary sector, and the public sector (such as schools and hospitals). This is to help protect them from rising energy costs. More information can be found here

In partnership with Bryce Energy Services, we held an explanation workshop, it gave businesses in North Tyneside an overview of the Government scheme and how it affects their business. In case you missed it, you can watch it here: Q&A session.
