North Tyneside Council is seeking local business’ views to help ensure the borough continues to be a great place for investment and growth.
The local authority is reviewing employment land in the borough and a survey of businesses will be key source of evidence.
The review will consider the current supply of employment land, investigate future demand for employment land and premises, and consider where current supply could be improved to help support growth. Once completed, it will update the previous review in 2015.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Carl Johnson, who has responsibility for Planning, Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “We’re committed to bringing more good quality jobs to North Tyneside.
“One of the key ways we’ll achieve this is by ensuring the borough has the right conditions for businesses to grow and thrive.
“That’s why I encourage local businesses and employers to provide us with their views via this survey, which will help us to build a detailed picture of their needs.”
The survey aims to:
- Better understand the local labour market
- Understand trends and changes in the local economy
- Monitor employers’ experience of operating in North Tyneside
- Gain an understanding of local employers’ issues and needs
- Identify employment opportunities, skills gaps and training needs
- Inform planning and infrastructure requirements.
The survey, which is available here, closes at 5pm on Monday 31 October.
The employment land review is being carried out by the council, supported by its partner Capita, as well as consultants Lichfields and Lambert Smith Hampton.
