Big Community Conversation 2023

Complete the survey - click here

For this year's Big Community Conversation we are reaching out to residents to help us to gain a deeper understanding of the types of things you want to be kept informed about.

Your views will help us to see what information you need and lead to the creation of an action plan of how we can better keep you informed about the things that are important to you.

Statement of Licensing Policy Review

Why we want your views.
In reviewing the Statement of Licensing Policy we must carry out a statutory consultation and consider the views of local residents, businesses and licence holders on the revisions to the Policy. We have made some changes and additions and you can give your views by looking at the questionnaire and checking the reviewed policy against the existing one.

The closing date for your views is 23 July 2023.

Public Space Protection Orders Review

We would welcome your views on the council’s proposal to extend the Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) currently in place, aimed at tackling problems in public places relating to irresponsible dog ownership and the irresponsible consumption of alcohol.

PSPO's were introduced in October 2017 and have a legal lifespan of three years.  They were reviewed and kept in 2020 and need to be reviewed again.  We need you views on whether there are reasonable grounds for extending the current PSPOs until 2026.

Art Wall North Shields Transport Hub

We’ve commissioned local artist Colin Davies to install a large-scale artwork on the internal wall of the North Shields Transport Hub, and you can help decide what it will be! Funding  for this is all part and parcel of the Transforming Cities Funding Award that we received for North Shields.

There are two future-focused designs to choose from, inspired by the town's historical and cultural legacy, and drawing upon references from the industries forged on the Fish Quay:

Design 1: Dazzle Camouflage

North Tyneside Hackney Carriage and Licensing Policy

This consultation is about the issuing of taxi licenses. Each Local Authority (council) has responsible for issuing taxi licenses. Every council also has its own set of vehicle standards and one of these covers the age of a vehicle.

North Tyneside has an approved plan to introduce new vehicle age standards in 2024 but since this was approved, Newcastle and Gateshead have introduce a Clean Air Zone with different vehicle standards to ours.

Community Partnership consultation

We would like to hear from residents who live in the North West of the borough - Longbenton, Camperdown and Weetslade Wards (see a link to the ward map below).  We'd like to know about any volunteering opportunities and community groups in your area and whether they are meeting your needs, are in need of support or whether you require something different.  You can complete the survey here: CLICK HERE
