Overview of the borough

Please note that there are many different geographic unit types used to publish data, such as electoral wards, parliamentary constituencies, local authority and postcodes. Unfortunately boundaries frequently do not align and are subject to frequent revision. This means it difficult to take data published in one geographic unit and produce maps and reports based in another (i.e. using postcode level data to produce ward level maps).

Other sources of data:

The Council's Planning Evidence Base and Monitoring contains evidence and data on key social, economic and environmental issues in North Tyneside.

The Office for National Statistics publish a large number of datasets at local authority level, including Census Maps - Census 2021 data interactive
